That article leaves out that they are also investigating collusion between Juve and Serie A to allow for the transfers in the first place, along with separate deals and shell companies.

Luckily Juventus (And Serie A) have no previous history of corruption, so these investigations will likely amount to nothing.

I get the problem with falsifying amounts in the accounts, but clubs paying more than fair value? Not sure how that can give rise to a criminal case, unless there was compensation "off the books" for the excess that was paid. Not sure sporting fairness is a matter for the Turin prosecutor to investigate?
Doesn't matter. Your point goes to motive but you can't cook the books for ANY reason and if there is evidence of irregularities, there will be criminal law implications whatever the club's rationale might have been.
