We wouldn’t have won the titles if stones and otamendi could have been our first choice pair . End of the day we all have our own opinions on what is best for the team and if you think they are both decent defenders then fair play . But you are right about protection as our midfield with ferdy at his peak stopped everything . Maybe we should go and pay £80 for Kante because he would smash that midfield .

Stones and Otamendi still wouldn't be our first choice pair, so I'm not too sure where you're going with that one?

As for Kante, off the ball I agree, he would improve us no end. However on the ball he's limited, in the same way Nigel De Jong was limited, that would cause us additional problems because we would lose possession more frequently which is the complete opposite of Pep's desire for "total control" of games.
