Good news as it means we’re selling both Otamendi and Stones. I know Garcia wants out but he’s still more talented than both of his seniors. I’d be very happy with Kouli, Laporte, Aké and Garcia for a year, until we figure out who takes the fourth spot.

We should be used to the silence with which we as a club does business by now but it makes the transfer window hard fucking work as literally no fucker has the first clue as to anything we do.

Even if Bayern haven't already tapped him up, he's raw & needs to iron out some things in his game, that's the problem.

Who in our backline would help him settle, at a time when they can't even help themselves?

I'm sure if Koulibaly was already a regular City player, we would be looking at players like Upamecano to join him.

I’m inclined to agree.

He was every bit as good as Van Dijk last season (arguably better considering how compact Liverpool are) but his post-injury performances were generally poor.

Generally agree - and it is easy to under-estimate the difficulty of coming back at the business end of a doubly disrupted season - multiple months injury + COVID. Worth remembering also how well Laporte performed in the 2019 run-in next to Kompany. If Koulibaly arrives and is the player we hope he is, I think we will see Laporte re-emerge as a world class CB.

Stones might go back to Everton, who knows. Or Arsenal. Otamendi could go to Spain; Valencia or Real Betis with Pellegrini.

If the rumour is correct about keeping a wantaway Garcia another year (despite what the club knows and that they could get money for him now) then that speaks volume of the clubs intentions to get rid of Stones and Otamendi. From my pov, there’s no way in hell we are keeping them around for another season.
