Kalvin Phillips | Joins City on a 6-year deal

This guy is poor.

I trust the club explicitly, and they've enough credit in the bank to go and out and make the odd mistake in the transfer market. But I honestly do think signing Phillips would be a mistake. I have watched him intently tonight and have seen nothing about his game that stands out; he isn't capable of passing through the lines under pressure (which is the number one requisite for a midfielder in our team), he vacates the centre a lot to close down and win the ball (oftentimes resulting in fouls), he gets played through far too easily, and his passing can be wild and erratic: I thought he was supposed to be a Pirlo-esque composed passer of a ball? And he subsequently mis-controls a pass which results in Hungary's second.

I wanted to be impressed tonight, I really did. Please somebody come on here and tell me what I'm not seeing? Does anyone on here truly believe we should spend £60mil on him?

If I turn out to be wrong on him, I'll have the self-respect to come on here and admit I was wrong. But I don't think I will be.

Could be that after a very long season we maybe can't judge players for a pointless international when they're desperately in need of a rest. Especially under a manager who hasn't got a clue how to direct anyone other than a CB
Sorry like I said before it's not just tonight he aint fookin good enough fullstop

I don't follow England & don't jump on any bandwagon when it comes to tournaments but fuck me Southgate is a fucking numpty

Surely our scouts are better than this offering.
I'd rather sign Mel B.. Oooo you bastards
