Don't put words in my mouth. I'm not sure you understand the term, 'sweeping generalisation'. I didn't say that that Savile wasn't allowed by certain individuals within the corporation to operate in plain sight. I'm already aware that Dame Janet's report found that five senior BBC managers effectively turned a blind eye to suspicions of abuse. Notwithstanding that, your comment condemned the entire organisation as a consequence of that admittedly unforgivable oversight together with a frankly bizarre accusation that it takes 'money from the elderly'. By any standard, that's a sweeping generalisation.
It's not a bizarre accusation in 2019 the BBC made the decision to remove free TV licenses for the over 75's.

Bunch of peadophile protectors who take money from the elderly

And for a whopping £13 per month all they get in return is BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, Radio 1 Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5, BBC Sounds which includes a huge archive drama, comedy and documentaries stretching back decades, BBC Iplayer which includes a huge archive drama, comedy and documentaries stretching back decades and all the content on the BBC website.

That's not to mention the regional BBC services, the specific broadcasting for Wales, Scotland and NI, the Welsh, Scots and Irish language broadcasts and the BBC World Service.

The good thing here is there's something for everyone so even if pensioners don't like BBC3 or 1extra maybe their grandkids will and its all affordable because we all make the same moderate contribution.

Post Savile the BBC has implemented a large range of safeguarding, and whistleblowing policies for staff who wish to raise concerns and, in conjunction with the NSPCC, have dedicated child protection officers, so it's worry that you seem think that all 22,000 members of staff are protecting paedophiles-perhaps you could elaborate on your concerns so we can alert the proper authorities?

Now, of course, there are some people who use the historic cases of abuse and the relatively small cost of the licence fee to attack the BBC when really they are angry that it isn't simply a right-wing echo chamber for senile racists and, for balance, there are people on the left that are convinced that it's simply an extension of the right wing Tory establishment. It's worth bearing in mind as you wouldn't want to be perceived as one of those moronic nut-jobs.

Anyone who can be bothered to do some homework on this issue will know it's not as simple as that. I suggest you read the piece below.
