Indeed. In the seven summers since Kolarov left, the management have returned from their annual quest empty-handed, unable to find the fabled treasure that is a left-back. Is it really that hard? Instead Guardiola has had to make do and mend with an unlikely assortment of artefacts, a couple of whom wouldn't get shelf space in the People's Museum.
