Kalvin Phillips

I feel sorry for him.

Best thing he could do is go back to Leeds, whichever league they’re in, and get his form and confidence back.

It hasn’t worked, but he walks away with a treble and a very healthy bank account. He had the bollocks to move to a bigger club challenging at the top table.
Dunno if Leeds even need him anymore. Midfield under Farke has been great, got gray coming through as well.

That's when he wasn't on show, he's really regressed since leaving Leeds.

Has he regressed that much? I'm not so sure.

If we are being realistic about it, in his career he has had one good season in the Premier League. His second season in this league at Leeds was full of injuries and poor performances, and the rest of his career was in the championship.

Lots of players that are not true Premier League caliber have had one good season in the Premier League. look at the likes of Patrick Bamford, he had a good season for Leeds that year too. He was unlucky with injuries but even without that he's played most of his football in the second tier. Just like Kalvin.

Maybe Phillips is just championship level that managed one good season in the Premier League like many players have and that's his lot. Maybe by coming to us has enhanced as a status much more than it should be.

Just because Gareth Southgate picked you for the England squad and you've managed one good season in the Premier League in your career, it doesn't necessarily mean you are Premier League quality.

Maybe he's being found out. I don't think it's unfair to say that he was quickly found out by Pep when he arrived and was clearly nowhere near the player that they thought.
