Kalvin Phillips

I’m sure he’s training hard every day, the fact he’s picking up 150k a week for doing so is not his fault. When we signed him he was Leeds best player and England’s best midfielder
I doubt he's arsed in training because on the rare occasions he gets on the pitch he just strolls about grinning putting very little effort in, hence why he's been loaned out twice and sent back. Pep has clearly given up on him.

None, but he should be telling his agent to try and find him a club where he'll play. I think he's more interested on sitting it out with us than playing football. Total waster.
Didn’t he have an Achilles injury similar to Kovacic? Doubt any club in the summer would have entertained signing him.

Not sure anyone has asked Pep about his fitness since!

Cute opinion. He is not interested in earning a fraction of his current pay to play football. That's silly

There are no incentives ro do that. He is not trying to make the English WC squad or anything. This is a job. And he is at the peak of his potential pay. Why the hell would he give that up to satisfy some random people's wishes. He can enjoy good football at tge sunday league pub if he wants.

If a team comes in for his service and between that clun and City his current wages are covered, of course he'd go. But yhe idea he should forgo 50 to 75 grand a week for 2 years just so he can say, i am playing... Is silly on every level and i dont understand why some fans dont get this

This is his job. It might be your fantasy. But its his job. And his #1 Interest is himself.

Why is he still here, does he have no ambition whatsoever? Needs to finds himself a club.
Depends how you define ambition.

I reckon there's a fair few people on here who wouldn't take a reduction in wage to have to actually do some work.

If hes got a lovely family and is happy in his home life, then hes not far off living the dream.

Seems from reports there are a few like that Stones, Ake, Bobb, Ortega etc would any of them leave for a pay cut. I think we tried in the summer to move players but if they're on contract?

Could he do a job on the bench/versus exeter for us as we try and ride this injury crisis out? What does he actually do on a daily basis? He was on the bench for league cup games and then has kind of disappeared.....
I’d get him on that bench and make him start earrning some money back and the surely he is capable of doing somthing considering our crisis .

Ake will leave for playing time. He is interested in making the WC team. Bobb is young and wants to make a name for himself. Brsides his contract isn't that big and this isnt ( in his opinion probably) his peak. Stones, Ortega and Phillips this applies to.

Older players past their prime but making prime pay check. You only have 1 or 2 years pf prime money lwft. Why give it up? You can go on and play at the lower levels for years after your contract till your body gives up.

That's on the clubs for signing a player to contracts they cant live up to.

IF he can stay fit, Ake will be getting plenty of playing time here…
