Kalvin Phillips

We could still register him for both the PL & CL squad, think we have a home grown spot spare don’t we? The spare non-homegrown spot I guess Ortega will take now.
Its looking that way.
I have a feeling Ortega may head off to foreign climes yet as some leagues are still open for transfers.

I’m ashamed to say I thought the same. At least he wouldn’t need to have his back to the opponents.
Me too.

He did fine when he played CB, so he's fairly solid defensively, ok in the air and has decent passing ability, particularly long diagonal passes. I think if given a fairly simple role with clear instructions, he could do an ok job there. I can't see it happening though.

Mind you, I think the same about Nunes too. In fact he has all the attributes to be a very good RB if he could cut out the occasional daft mistakes. Maybe even Lewis if he could be allowed to play RB and not invert.

Perhaps none are ideal but with a tweak of the system (which I think we need anyway), we might find that we are ok at RB for the time being.

Can you imagine if it worked…our most useless player shines at the our hardest position to fill. Might be better to try Esbrand there. I think they are both injured but then so is half the squad!

Are you seeing any signs of Pep's tweeking our formation & tactics any time soon?

Right back needs pace above all else. That is why imo Nunes is grand and Lewis is not.

Who else has pace besides besides Khusonov? And I'd prefer him at CB where more pace is needed.

Phillips is completely useless to us. To play him is to waste more time finding a fit when there is none.

Good luck to the lad but his fortune is in his own hands. We shouldn't give him another thought.

His Achilles seems to be the issue, might be part of the reason he's still here.

Sad, but his injury record was there before. So we were the fool in a way.

Joking aside what on earth do we do with him this time?

Even if he were fit I don’t think we can loan him as he is in contract.

We gave him a six year contract and he still has THREE left!

Just pay up his contract and write it off as a bad investment, with a bit of creative accountancy you might be able make it tax deductible.

It can’t be good for either party keeping him around, so just get rid and let him use Gironas or Troyes training ground if he so wishes.

whats funny we need to pay him loyalty bonus too when he leaves us summer 2028. few more millions.
and about 21m in wages until.

sometimes I think we talk to HMRC and pension department and somehow get to Txiki's pension payment and deduct some of Phillips costs from his pension.
:)

this move to City didnt turn out great professional level for him but he is set for life financially, I can recall maybe one good halftime from him at City.

Bielsa probably got some % from Leeds from the fee for making Pep and Txiki pull the trigger.

He’s got 3 years left. It’d cost £20m ish.
