Kalvin Phillips

In the same way that we needed bad luck to lose it some other seasons. In a sense, that's why I'll never consider the Champions League the ultimate prize, because in any knockout tournament, luck plays a huge role. The fact that it's regularly won by teams that can't win their domestic league should tell us that. You can't fluke the league.
Agree but the CL is by far the most revered trophy.

For the amount of football he’s got any hope of playing, he might as well live on the moon.
He’s probably expected to be at the club to train three times a week, for something like three hours a time. Obviously doesn’t have to be anywhere near the squad on match days.

He could actually live wherever he wants and perhaps stay in a hotel in town for a couple of nights a week, and just pick up his 100k-plus a week for the next few years.

Nice work if you can get it.

Maybe Mourinho could hook him up with a discount referral code for the Piccadilly Travelodge

In the very few minutes he had he looked awful again.

He should have been sent anywhere to just not have to think of him. It's just a distraction for the coaches.

Typical Kelvin display, walked around, didn’t really want the ball, complete lack of application. His career is presently going nowhere… you’d have thought he’d have busted a gut last night when he came on… but no.

I actually thought it was a bit cruel to play him last night, he was obviously going to be shit and it’s a pointless sideshow.

Mind you the fact he’s even still in our squad is at least partly down to him. Surely some Championship clubs would’ve enquired about a loan. If he really wanted to reboot his career he could take a pay cut, swallow his pride and play some football.

Also at this point surely City have got nothing to lose by agreeing to tear up his contract and letting the guy go on a free to a non-premier league club?

Thought the fans were great last night as the dog botherers gave him some stick to be quickly drowned out with " hes won more than you"
Still out of his depth at our level as he was from day one.
Leeds lad, 2 kids of his own now while Dad in prison. Family set up for life!
Championship level now? certainly
big contrast on the pitch with Foden who was outstanding. Screenshot_20250925_093730_Instagram.jpg

He’s living the dream, well my dream at least. Pockets 150k a week and gets to have a run out every 600 days. Fair play to him, can’t moan at him for doing what’s best for him and his family, I wouldn’t leave until my contract was paid up.

I know people have a right to say he's out of his depth and to be fair he has looked out of his depth at times, however a decent player would fit into this side (OK he may not stand out as excellent but he would be able to hide in it) I don't think all this is about ability he obviously has some.

We have him for a few years he seems like a nice lad let's see if we can squeeze a few games out of him.
