You see this is a perfect example of what I’m genuinely trying to explain to you.
I don’t have an alternative workable solution. I have asked quite civilly for explanations of the American system and got quite amicable and informative answers back. So I’m not professing to like their system. I don’t profess to find it the greatest democracy in the world, but I can still choose quite easily I would say, the lesser of two evils as I see it and knowing full well I have no say in the outcome one way or another.

The people you seem to have the most beef with in here, well let’s just say, I don’t conclude the same as you do from what they tell us in here.
It’s not in my view a blind endorsement of everything Blue and Democratic.
That’s not what they are saying.
In the system they have and what they perceive the two possible outcomes would mean to their own country never mind globally, it’s not even a close run race in their minds.
Personally without endorsing their system or their foreign policy and not being blind to how the world is run, can see why and I feel I would be the exact same in the circumstances.
Don’t get me started on Israel, I’m struggling to stay out of that thread as it is and don’t get me going on Ukraine either.

I don’t think people in here are as blind to the world as you make out.

In short Bigga, I suppose the big difference in opinions between myself and yourself is that I do feel you portray a very just argument being your driving force but you seemingly willingly misconstrue others incentive as bias when they ask you to call out the Trump side of America. An America that you seem to be railing against but mostly those not voting for Trump.

Me on the other hand have no problem telling our American brethren that I have no interest in visiting the place, particularly if that clown gets into power, but value their views on how their country operates and appreciate that they are not all as gullible and dim as we see in the MAGA social media clips on YouTube etc.

I just don’t get that. I don’t know where you are from but I know in Britain the Tories had three different Prime Ministers in as many years it seemed and there’s nothing unconstitutional about that, if they had a constitution.
Over here our PR- STV voting system allows for that. You vote for your local candidate. The majority party forms a government and can choose their own leader as many times as they like. They choose from within the party, nothing to do with going back to the electorate.

Don’t know why I brought that up, but it has been bugging me, along with other bogus arguments that seem to want to sidetrack the simple issue in front of us.

You though, like they, seem to gloss over a system that suppresses freedom of speech and political expression, so the voter doesn't get real choice. The political process doesn't want its citizens to hear other PoV on a landscape that away from neolib/con directioning and that's why the "two options for Prez" are a false view. Maybe have a look at Stein and see how she's affecting the swing states in relation to Harris and Trump. And that's via word of mouth, so imagine if the MSM gave a legitimate political voice real air time??

So, myself, I don't need to call out Trump. I don't see him as any lesser evil than the Dems who are in power that have led the world to brink of war. Not sure why anybody supports that.

Finally, I don't particularly remember a time when a Dem replacement has, effectively, taken over a sitting Pres in relatively modern times. In fact I think it's only George H Bush that has won a push for Pres from Vice and he was challenged by Mondale (??) from within his own party.

I don't recall a Vice Pres being unchallenged before. You might think it happens in the UK all the time and yes, it does, but the UK and US systems are NOT the same. I think what has happened has set a precedence in modern US history.

So, effectively, they make it up as they go along without 'pushback' in the media over it as they are complicit in keeping Trump out because he's uncontrollable at the fringes of politics.

The 'lesser of two evils' is STILL evil, let's not forget that and it's very much on display.

I’ve tried multiple times, but it always ends up with long held grievances and conspiratorial stances streaming forth.

I’ve no idea why, but I always seem to feel like if you just act rationally and use facts, actual people will respond favorably, but more fool me!

Been warned numerous times, both publicly and privately, about dealing with certain individuals on here, but I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, believing “THIS TIME, who knows?”
