Kaoru Mitoma

How much is "ridiculously overpriced" according to your estimate?
They will ask 80-100m at least (Cucrella being a example of being an overpriced player). They told Brighton to do-one when signing Caicedo on the cheap

Yep MacAlister Caicedo and Mitoma Brighton will be asking that and we know they won’t budge

Buying Brighton players will be very difficult.

That team is fighting for europe, and if they get it, the owner probably will want to have them stay up there.

They would ask for 100m for Mitoma, and I want the player, but doubt we go in for him at that price.

Academy and loanees would be my ideal to deal with some of the squad depth issues and then going in big for a few high profile targets.

Has he renewed his contract?

Nonsense. For the right price we can get him

He's hardly an ambitious guy let's be honest. Put his career on hold to go to uni and is now already heading into his prime years, when he could have been a CL player for a few years by now. Seems like the kind of guy who'd be happy to stay at Brighton for his career. Which I'm not saying is a bad thing.

Anyway, the problem with trying to sign Brighton isn't that we can't afford him, it's that Chelsea will offer £10-20m more than we're willing to.

A purple patch doesn’t warrant spunking the type of money they will command; he’s a lovely player but to suggest he can seamlessly go up a notch, after 24 top flight games is laughable; now if we are talking about the same correlation of numbers and level of performances in 12 months, there’s an argument to be had but let’s see…

Agree with your view by the way, I reckon he’ll flourish in the environment he’s in, stepping outside of that may not best serve his character!
