When he was pressing for more transparency about historical child abuse last year, the Daily Mail (DM) ran a story about him in relation to his ex-wife.

She sold her story where she claimed he'd taken ecstacy at the Hacienda in his younger days.

Nothing more than a smear campaign against him. As you say, he put his head above the parapet and yet the DM wanted to discredit him. Even by DM standards, I found that shocking.
