Karl Popper the Paradox of tolerance

Yep very much so.

But to answer your original question, yes that’s pretty fair but as I say, it depends on who decides what can and can’t be subjected to satire, mockery and debate.

Satire and mockery are fine in my book, that is showing tolerance by humour, its when you show tolerance for the intolerant who use satire and humour in way that masks their reasons I think its fine to be intolerant.

An example. I think Lukaku looks like the fat bloke from family guy, that's fine, it is humour. I think Lukaku is a fat guy because he takes in washing from Spanish sailors who pay him in pies is fine, its satire, I think Lukaku is a ****** is not fine and should not be tolerated

I think Lukaku was a rag ****

"In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance."

Is that fair?
Its a fine line between tolerance and approval. I think as a modern liberal and mature society we should be able to accept some have extreme views, while at the same time not by any means condoning them. I'm not suggesting it's easy btw.

That's a fair point

He went to say

" Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them"

It depends on the society.

It does, think back to the protests at the school that was going to teach lgbt. The protester's were mainly Muslim, so were the Muslim people intolerant of the lgbt community, or are the people who have pushed for lgbt to be taught in a mainly Muslim schools intolerant of Muslim beliefs.

The former.
