Katie Hopkins on verge of bankrupcy

Looks like having extreme bigoted views doesn't pay after all.

Unless Faux News give her a TV show!!!
 
This news nearly killed me. Laughing whilst drinking coffee is not a thing I would recommend.

Although like others, I doubt she will be taking a trip down to the food bank or signing on. She will have transferred her cash.

Still, it’s good to see her getting decked. If it will only be a blip. Fox Sake News will definitely take her. She ticks all their boxes.

I'd normally agree but she has shown here self to be a financial liability. That's why the Daily Mail dropped her and no other media organisation will go near her anymore, it had nothing to do with lack of popularity or her being a terrible human being, it was that she wasn't smart enough with her bile to avoid constantly getting them sued.

Bile onky gets you so far. They liked her vibe, they still do, but as you say, when litigation through stupidity arrives, she goes. There will be someone to replace her who keeps to the right side of the law.
 
how accurate is this though ... is she at the point where she can't afford a luxury house, cars etc ?

An IVA is essentially a deal that you agree when you cant pay your debts. She will be allowed to keep an element of her earnings - the theory is that the creditors are better taking a chunk of future earnings by agreement than going down a full bankruptcy.

She will not be allowed to keep any significant assets.

I find this quite strange that a writer can upload whatever article they like to their online paper!

Does no one proofread or editors scan the article before it uploads?

I, daresay, Mail online simply allowed this person to pour her bile out as it would attract readers, court controversy and seek clicks.

It's as guilty and complicit as her.

Pretty sure all mail online etc content is reviewed by an editor prior to publishing.

The mail has to publish loads of corrections and apologies etc. I think they balance out the blatant misinformation against the benefit in clicks / add revenue. KH fell foul of that cost / benefit calculation - they don't care who she offends.

Hence why they were responsible for the payouts when she was sued over articles on their site, hence why they then got rid of her (and probably whoever gave the go ahead for her articles without checking with any competent lawyer). The latest lawsuit that bankrupted her was over lies spread on twitter, so she was financially responsible for a change instead of her paper.
 
Apologies for the high jacking of this thread but I’ve obviously missed something here but has the Brexit and politics threads been banned recently not seen nowt for a week or so which is odd seeing as they were permanent the top two threads.
