I saw him make his debut at Maine Rd, took him a while to settle but he was fantasic and my fave player during that time..

Too good for City really as the other players were not on his wavelength.

Big Mal came along and he hardly played after that..

It would appear that it was due to a 'joint initiative' put into action by Deynas widow , and fans of his military club , Legia Warsaw ..... both parties saw fit to transport the body back to Poland just days before the start of the 2012 Euro Championships , which were being held there/and in the Ukraine.

His widow went to the US , and brought the ashes back at the request of the Legia supporters .... and it was deliberately timed to mark the start of the Euro games .

Remember a fantastic freekick on a rainy night v Aston Villa at the North Stand end. Swung viciously around/over the wall into the top corner. Fantastic footballer.

Was that Forest game the one where he celebrated his goal by jumping up and hanging from the crossbar?

Yes I think it was that game. I also remember a classy finish to win a match at Elland Rd - Kaziu jinked inside two defenders then hit it with no backlift from about 20 yards, keeper had no chance.

I remember him scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory over Forest at Maine Road. Forest were the European Champions at the time. The atmosphere at that match was something else, befitting of a player of his class. Happy days.

One of my happiest ever memories of city..listening to the 2nd half commentary on radio 2,city beating the champions of europe..Wow!!

Don,t think it was micky robinson who said that..it was an older, more experienced journalist/manager type i think..although the name escapes me..someone like stuart hall..?

I was one of only two City fans who made it over to Warsaw for this game.

But didn't go to York away!
