I think you're getting silky mixed up with one of his contemporary teammates Barry Silkman . Although his play wasn't that silky to be honest.

Past his best when he came to us, but still a class act. Often gets overlooked in terms of the greats who’ve played for our club. In his prime, he was a world class midfielder. That Poland team in the mid-to-late 70’s was fucking mint and Deyna was its fulcrum.

Was going to post this. Forest were Euro champions and unbeaten for something like 34 games.
Clearly a great player but came to us at the end of his career.

I was nine and in Spain on a family holiday when that game was played, in the autumn. Couldn’t wait for my dad to go and buy the English papers the next day (or possibly the one after!) so I could read the match report, which he did. I remember it saying how well we played.
