I think Pellers style of play requires quite a few games to get a good understanding across the defence. This is likely to mean for the PL and CL games that central defenders are first choice or out on the fringe (until suspension and/or injury affects selection).

I'd be happy for Martin to start first choice alongside Vinny given his excellent end to the season.

He might do it for one year more until FFP transfer limit is gone. Might be tricky in the Champions League but might be better to risk it than buying under pressure.

He turned it around in the league towards the end of the season but he was wank in the Champions League and I mean proper wank. The next step as a club is to make real progress in the Champions League and we won't do that with Demichelis. He will have his role to play next season but we really do need a world class CB to partner Kompany.
