Met him in a pub in Brum about 20 year ago. Smashing fellow. No airs and graces.
Didn't have a long chat or owt, but he made an impression.

The guy was responsible for letting me go at Lincoln as a young professional but no hard feeling he really was a genuine guy and he did have the decency to take me to one side and tell me unlike some clubs have dealt with there players in the past. He also helped me get on at another club and didnt abandon me. RIP

Balti,dont know what age you are but if you are as old as me you will remember the dark days of monkey chants at games. He was a pioneer for Black Managers and this should be mentioned.
