I confess I had never heard of Keith Andrews until he was appointed Brentford manager when Thomas Frank departed.
Andrews was a successful DM for Ireland and several clubs in England. After retiring he had several coaching jobs, mainly at the lower end of English football. He was appointed Brentford set piece coach a couple of years ago. The hierarchy there must have been impressed to give him the chief coach role.
What a job he has done. They were the better side against Arsenal but had to settle for a point. They are currently riding high in the PL, just outside the top six. They are still a leading team in set piece goals too. Well done, sir.
I wonder what other talents are lurking unheralded.

He makes a cracking egg butty and is pretty good at gin rummy.

I used to see him on sky sports and think 'Who the fucks he?'. He's got the look of a village idiot who's 2 squirts short of a piss, but he's doing a bloody good job.

I'd heard of him, he was a decent honest pro and I must admit when I heard he got the job I was a bit worried for Brentford but he is doing a fantastic job.
In fact I'd go as far as saying he has made the Bees better and more solid since chewing gum bob went.

Maybe it's because I'm in Ireland but that boggles my mind you'd never heard of him before this season.

I remember Brentford fans reactions to their lineup against us in the league cup and after the match, they were fuming wanting him sacked

I was surprised they gave the job to the set-piece coach, don't think you hear that very often. Still, he's doing a good job so far.

He was assistant manager to the Irish national team around that time too.

Agree that he's doing a fantastic job. Especially when you consider that Brentford lost some key players in the summer. I thought any replacement for Frank would be a big step down and when you factor in those player departures, I expected to see them in a relegation fight.

They've taken points off Arsenal, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle at home this season so that narrow 1-0 win of ours at theirs is looking like a very good result. Not forgetting that they won at Villa the other week playing the whole second half with 10 men.

I do like Brentford as a club. It's a good away day, their fans are decent, and the only real downside is the stewarding.

Potter at Brighton and Frank at Brentford both overachieved and went on to fail at 'bigger' clubs. Perhaps it's the clubs, and the way that they operate that's the diamond, not the coach?
Wouldnt be to harsh with Frank at Spursy even the best have failed at that powder puff club
