I'd love that to be the case but he wasn't really in Pep's plans for much of last season even when Jesus wasn't available to us so Sanchez or no Sanchez I think we would be moving him on and getting him some football this summer. No way we'd have let Kelechi go if Sanchez wasn't wrapped up IMO.
Does leave us a bit short on the striker front though so they must be planning something.I'd love that to be the case but he wasn't really in Pep's plans for much of last season even when Jesus wasn't available to us so Sanchez or no Sanchez I think we would be moving him on and getting him some football this summer.
I think it's more a case of having backup options if Sanchez doesn't work out.No way we'd have let Kelechi go if Sanchez wasn't wrapped up IMO.
I'm certain we are trying to get someone in and I'm sure we are trying to get Sanchez but I reckon we'd be letting kelechi go whether we've agreed a deal for Sanchez or not tbh.Does leave us a bit short on the striker front though so they must be planning something.
£35m apparently. What do we think the BuyBack clause would be? £40m?
Yes I agree, think it's a good deal for all concerned. If we don't get Sanchez, will be interesting to see who we do go for.I'm certain we are trying to get someone in and I'm sure we are trying to get Sanchez but I reckon we'd be letting kelechi go whether we've agreed a deal for Sanchez or not tbh.
The 'corridor of uncertainty'....is that near the 'back alley of bewilderment?...I don't know Leicester at all....
Let's not forget that 12 months ago this kid was lauded by most blues, a first team starter was requested by most blues, his record is world class and any dip in form is due to his lack of game time and the knowledge that Jesus was bought and was imminently due to arrive, must of been a right kick in the balls.
Watch this kid go and I pray he gets off to a flier coz I reckon he'll be back in 2 years.
Hopefully we will get someone very significant, preferably Sanchez but even if we get nobody, I don't think it is a huge issue to have let kelechi go. Not that I don't rate him, I think he is a fantastic prospect but I don't think Pep would play him next season even if we get nobody else in to replace him. Watford at home last season we had no fit senior strikers except for Kelechi. He left Kelechi on the bench and I think played KDB up front and didn't even bring Kelechi on. So really it makes no difference whether we sign anyone or not, Kelechi had to go to for his own sake and I don't think it tells us anything about the Sanchez deal.Yes I agree, think it's a good deal for all concerned. Kind of get your drift, but kelechi has some of the best stats in world football which is nothing we've ever witnessed and is a full blown international, which was never the case with any of our up and coming.I certainly didn't laud him. Thought he was a prospect but had a lot to do to make it at the top. I've seen it time and time again at our club. Players lauded as you say but never fulfilling their early promise. I remember Gary Mason was going to be a world beater and that's without mentioning future England captain Barton and mainstay for years Richards. And there are plenty more examples.
In my opinion people are getting a little carried away with Jesus already. Seen many "ballon d'or" "future superstar" and "will be better than Mbappe" comments on here. And god I hope he is. But he has just arrived, played a handful of games in which he has been great in a few but struggled in a few as well.
Pep has blooded many youngsters that have gone on to big things. He has worked with Kelechi for a year now and if he thinks he can do better then you have to respect that. I think £25m represents a fair price in this market. Especially with buy back/sell on options.
