Kelechi Iheanacho

Half a sanchez fee is pretty good with a buyback as well. Especially considering how much we got him for

£25m for me means that we included a buyback clause. Otherwise he is worth closer to £40m, this kid is 20 years old and has scored a ridiculous amount of goals given he rarely started.

@domalino Kelechi scoring more league goals than Lukaku is def worth a bet, Kelechi goes there with almost no pressure eager to prove himself, Lukaku goes to the swamp for an almost record fee with heavy expectations, hell still score many goals but don't think he'll match Big nose's return, never was a fan of Lukaku, posted a while ago about the type of goals he scores, not much of a match winner. I might also try Everton finishing above the rags if Everton manage to get a good replacement, I'm surprised how much they've strengthened already.

Based of his performances last season 25 million is brilliant fee. His all round play left a lot to be desired tbh after making a very promising debut season. Obviously doesn't help not starting every week so this is a good move for him. Really interesting to see how he develops with regular game time.

Not sure this is the right move for him.

Can imagine their manager giving him a hard time and can't see him being best buddies with Vardy and his crew.

No way we'd have let Kelechi go if Sanchez wasn't wrapped up IMO.
I'd love that to be the case but he wasn't really in Pep's plans for much of last season even when Jesus wasn't available to us so Sanchez or no Sanchez I think we would be moving him on and getting him some football this summer.

Does leave us a bit short on the striker front though so they must be planning something.

I hope he doesn't go to at a club that ends up fighting relegation, it will add pressure on him to succeed.

I'm certain we are trying to get someone in and I'm sure we are trying to get Sanchez but I reckon we'd be letting kelechi go whether we've agreed a deal for Sanchez or not tbh.

Let's not forget that 12 months ago this kid was lauded by most blues, a first team starter was requested by most blues, his record is world class and any dip in form is due to his lack of game time and the knowledge that Jesus was bought and was imminently due to arrive, must of been a right kick in the balls.
Watch this kid go and I pray he gets off to a flier coz I reckon he'll be back in 2 years.

Yes I agree, think it's a good deal for all concerned. If we don't get Sanchez, will be interesting to see who we do go for.

I certainly didn't laud him. Thought he was a prospect but had a lot to do to make it at the top. I've seen it time and time again at our club. Players lauded as you say but never fulfilling their early promise. I remember Gary Mason was going to be a world beater and that's without mentioning future England captain Barton and mainstay for years Richards. And there are plenty more examples.

In my opinion people are getting a little carried away with Jesus already. Seen many "ballon d'or" "future superstar" and "will be better than Mbappe" comments on here. And god I hope he is. But he has just arrived, played a handful of games in which he has been great in a few but struggled in a few as well.

Pep has blooded many youngsters that have gone on to big things. He has worked with Kelechi for a year now and if he thinks he can do better then you have to respect that. I think £25m represents a fair price in this market. Especially with buy back/sell on options.

Hopefully we will get someone very significant, preferably Sanchez but even if we get nobody, I don't think it is a huge issue to have let kelechi go. Not that I don't rate him, I think he is a fantastic prospect but I don't think Pep would play him next season even if we get nobody else in to replace him. Watford at home last season we had no fit senior strikers except for Kelechi. He left Kelechi on the bench and I think played KDB up front and didn't even bring Kelechi on. So really it makes no difference whether we sign anyone or not, Kelechi had to go to for his own sake and I don't think it tells us anything about the Sanchez deal.

Biggest problem was and is his ability to play in tight spaces, his touch is woeful, but he's an absolutely devastating finisher. Glad we've got a buyback clause, if he develops, he'll be unbelievable. Really intrigued to see how he does with Vardy upfront for Leicester.

Kind of get your drift, but kelechi has some of the best stats in world football which is nothing we've ever witnessed and is a full blown international, which was never the case with any of our up and coming.
He isn't ready by any means for pep to consider him as a starter, but the proof will be in the pudding, when Chelsea let lukaku go they didn't even consider the kind of clauses we are insisting on, that's how highly we regard him as a club.

What exactly has nacho done wrong for comments like the above? Comes on with 2 minutes to go and still scores. Best goal ratio in prem history. He's probably had one off game. He needs a run. He was even dropped after a hat trick.

Mad when some fans just presume pep and the club know best. Not sure how mpappe is a must sign at 100 mill but Bach isn't good enough... We will see... He needs to be playing with quality to prove it though
