I certainly didn't laud him. Thought he was a prospect but had a lot to do to make it at the top. I've seen it time and time again at our club. Players lauded as you say but never fulfilling their early promise. I remember Gary Mason was going to be a world beater and that's without mentioning future England captain Barton and mainstay for years Richards. And there are plenty more examples.
In my opinion people are getting a little carried away with Jesus already. Seen many "ballon d'or" "future superstar" and "will be better than Mbappe" comments on here. And god I hope he is.
