Because,IMO,25m suggests its currently a great move.

I disagree. Kelechi looked his best when he had someone up front with him, and if Shakespear continues to use a 442 or 4231 with another striker who can stretch the play and give Iheanacho more space in the box then he's going to score goals. Think it's actually the perfect move for everyone involved.

The money for Kelechi is probably earmarked for a CB, possibly Martinez. I would think the money for forward(s) was there regardless.

I don't think they are connected. For a long while I did, but it seems there was a legal dispute that was holding up the deal that has just been resolved and that has influenced its timing.
