Kemi Badenoch - Elected Tory Leader

I now live in Badenoch's constituency and for anyone who does believe she can bring about positive change for the Tories it's worth noting that in her election campaigning she talked about how much involvement she had in a new railway station for Chelmsford. Firstly that's bollocks because she had nothing to do with it and secondly and more telling, it isn't even in her constituency.

I’m just interested to see what she brings to the opposition, as she no longer has to look after her constituents.

She was shit mate

Felt like a GCSE debating group
I only heard a bit on the radio. She doesn't have a serious tone. Starmer is the master of making everything seem deeply concerning. He has that disappointed head teacher vibe. He's not angry....

She has plenty of time to work on it as the tories know they are nit going anywhere for 4 years and now is not the time for any more drama.

The Trump victory is also bad news for them as anything good for farage is bad for them. And being aligned to Trump might seem good right now let's see how that feels toward the end of his 4 year term.

I don’t see what would stop reform uk and the conservatives from forming a coalition government if Labour lose a majority. I wouldn’t count the right wing parties in the uk out even if they don’t find a “centrist” appealing leader.
Reform will never be that strong in the UK they have voters but they are spread out too thinly across constituencies, they are very useful for Labour because they take chunk of the looney far right vote away from the Tories, teh British system is not really that democratic

That's presupposing that Trump is popular over here, he is with Reform types but they are a small minority he is deeply unpopular we may share the same language but we are very different

You didnt tell me why you think she is a nice person
no politician is nice...the rules of the game is they work for us use our tax to make life better for the people...they're all sellouts who please their party doners who have leverage over them from funding. as long as we can all agree, an affordable pint of milk and loaf bread are the most important issues rather than categorising ourselves left or right, only when we work together we will be the ones with leverage over them, the way its meant to be.

Its already been proven that 70% of what comes out of a Tory's mouth is just lies . So if you work on that premise you won't go wrong.

Really? I had to google it all but Essex County Council were heavily involved, her constituency is Saffron Walden - in Essex. She says she worked with neighbouring MPs and the council. She was in the cabinet which would be useful for anyone trying to get funding for this.

In her own words

Kemi Badenoch, MP for Saffron Walden, said: “Having worked closely with neighbouring MPs, councils and various stakeholders to secure the funding for the new Beaulieu train station, I am delighted construction on the site has now begun.“

I don’t particularly like the lady, I hope she moves more to one nation Toryism but fairs fair fella, she might be using a bit of creative license here but she’s not lying.

It depends what you call work mate.

I'd say a project that was short of funding for a good decade plus before she became an MP, and then secured funding from a housing infrastructure fund announced a week or so before she became an MP for the first time meant that she had little to no involvement in getting this project delivered.

The shortfall in funding had been an issue for a long long time. Then the government announced a huge fund to help unlock housing projects that needed infrastructure delivery to enable them. As I said, that fund gets announced a week after she becomes an MP and then ECC manage to secure the funding they need to get the project delivered. She didn't oppose it, but to take credit for it is a stretch. I'd compare it to Kalvin Phillips boasting about his part in the treble.
