Kes

So many classic scenes and so many little moments that every kid of the day could relate to and see themselves.

Still have the dog-eared book and the film has stood the test of time about a time and place, and the struggles (and occasional triumphs) of the Northern working class existence.

One of the best clips of life back then. Absolutely spot on, and Oscar worthy performance from Glover.
I take it all rag players have to watch the film before they play so they get the diving right.
Class film though, not seen it for years.

It doesn't inspire any optimism in me either.
At least it looks like they've kept it in the 60s. Hollywood would've brought into modern day setting? Brian Glover in a City kit?

The Brian Glover character is fantastic. Typical Rag, a cheat, a fantasist and a bit of a bully.

The caning scene was fantastic, and summed up my education through Junior School and then Grammar School through the 1960's and into the early 1970's.

It was real as well, the tears were real, the actors were paid extra money to be caned.

Kes is one of my favourite films of all time its a classic and why the fcuk are they making a remake.
