Kevin De Bruyne - 2017/18 performances

Jose knew he couldn't get the best out of him, as KDB wouldn't be at his best in a parked bus.

Mourinho rarely puts his trust in a young player, I remember back then that KDB was by miles the best CFC player in preseason. Yet, as soon as the season began, he was benched and given very few opportunities. Same with Lukaku, he rather get an aging Drogba back than give chances to a young, promising striker.

Something happened in that goalless draw at old Trafford 2nd game of the season iirc. First one he started and won Mom with a beautiful assist to Oscar after dominating preseason. Then there was a 0-0 draw where the whole Chelsea team played shit and after that he dropped Kevin like a stone. We may never know what Mourinho was so upset with but this bit of ego play by Mourinho will haunt him for the rest of his days. He will get trashed soon in a trophy fight and be forced to comment on the undeniable utter world class brilliance of Kevin. I will enjoy that one so so much.

You have to realise the following: there is only 1 coach in Kevin's entire career (from Genk to Bremen, Wolfsburg and city) did not see his quality and realise this is the kind of player you build a team around. Only one. And he was hailed as one of the best coaches of all time lol. What a joke

I think what really pissed Kevin off, was the lies Mourinho was spreading about dropping him. All of a sudden, his work ethics were shit, he didn't want to do the practice in training and shit like that. I mean, the idiot must have thought we were fools. De Bruyne, if there was ever a guy that could run all around the pitch for 95 minutes and then some, at that age, it was him. You don't get that kind of physicallity by not taking your training seriously. His manager at Bremen litterally said the exact opposite, lol. But all of a sudden, Kevin supposedly turned into a lazy piglet that needed to be taught a lesson. Credibillity ZERO.

Mourinho has a history of doing that, he did the same to Lukaku, Mata, Casillas. Each time blaming the player's work ethics for him not playing them. Which is an easy thing to say as no one can check this of course. What really annoys me about it though, is that it can ruin young player's careers as it is very hard to shake off the blemish of being a lazy player.

No your old comments was that he would drop to the bench as soon as Gundogan was healthy last year. And again this year when you said Bernardo would bench him. About how De Bruyne is not a ‘Pep’ player and he would be benched as soon as we get the perfect ‘Pep’ player in Bernardo.

It’s okay to admit that you’re wrong. It’s okay to do that.
We are all allowed to be wrong sometimes. :)

It's the way he's pressing and winning the ball that has particularly impressed me because that is hard work; the passing is just easy for him but the effort he is putting in is helping him to be consistent as well as more effective.

To echo numerous sentiments, he is the best player in the league at the moment.
This. That's why I don't get the comparison to Zidane. Zidane didn't have this kind of defensive intensity.

In fairness, he is more like Never, Seedorf or someone of that mould. Good both offensively and defensively. Bit he has a better brain and technique than all the guys he really is like.

In short, I've never seen a 2 way player this good King Colin?

Yep, it's why KDB asked the Chelsea board for an open training, so he could prove Mourinho was wrong.
