Kevin De Bruyne - 2017/18 performances

I was at the game and me and City fans next to me were transfixed when De Bruyne was ghosting through the Spurs midfield with a leisurely assuredness that left Spurs midfield floundering in his wake with his unbelievable skill. He played a few blinding balls out wide when he had eyes in the back of his head, he just intuitively knew they would be there running onto it. We are witnessing blues here something very special and that is why Pep is very happy as well as us.

He was everywhere on the pitch causing problems for Tottenham. What's he doing now turning up there? Causing problems. He is brilliant and has a free role. Pep's mantra.

I don't know but one thing I can say is his work rate is off the charts this season. He's an incredible athlete and I sometimes find myself thinking slow down Kev you might break something. Pinging one touch 40 yard passes from either foot too, snapping into tackles never letting the oppo rest. A very, very special player

some idiot on sadcafe's KDB thread.

I would pick Messi #1 and KDB #2. KDB’s workrate, defense, delivery from set pieces, passing/shooting with both feet are all world class. Unfortunately Messi is still Messi so KDB will have to wait a year or two to be the best.

Great to see more people enjoy Kevin like I have been for these past few years. When I first compared him to Zidane people called me crazy. I said maybe I am crazy but honestly I have not seen a player have this kind of impact on a teamr since Zizou. I don't know who else to compare him to.

My god, I vividly remember the first time I saw this guy live. I had a season pass for 6 years for Club Brugge plus lots of european football by then and I had never seen anything like it. He was fucking 17 years old.

Mourinho... The most incomprehensible transfer in footballing history. Incidentally also a really really good one :D (you have to keep in mind that one of the most highly regarded scouts of Chelsea was begging the Chelsea board not to sell him, cause he knew the kind of player they had.)

This narrative of 'Kevin wasn't ready yet when he was at Chelsea' really needs to go. Kevin De Bruyne is the kind of talent that breathes football. I am sure that most real City fans who didn't know Kevin before, knew from the very first game they saw him that he was not an ordinary football player. It really takes a Special One not to see that.
