Toure should play in Fernandinho's position until Gundogan is fit. Has Pep and Yaya had falling out again?

I've only seen Yaya in the Girona game so it could just be he wasn't that bothered but he looked to have had another drop off in mobility, which isn't a criticism at his age and size. Maybe Pep is just seeing that. It looks going forward though that Gundogan and Kdb will be the 2 deeper midfielders and be fairly interchangeable.

Mate, can't have a convo with someone who says such things. Do you understand what he was there to do with a back four with full backs who play in the final third? And, even then he was getting into the box and should have had a pen!

What is that even supposed to mean?

Dinho is there to circulate the ball during possession and to connect the transition from defence to offence. He is there to make passes between the lines to get the ball to the Silvas. And so far he hasn’t been doing a good job of that, and that’s being nice.

It means that when he played in front of the 3/5 at the back, I would agree, but when we play in a back four HE is the "third defender" and drops in to pick up the ball. He has done a fine job, and I simply don't understand where you see the negativity in his game. Surely, he can't play every ball forward, and the players who are there to support him and relieve the pressure of the position are all around, but the two either side of him are usually free and open.

I'm not having it that he has been anything but top quality this season.

Fernandinho is mostly a destroyer. Plays very well centrally in this role. Is completely clueless when playing at fullback.

And he's not at all good at creating/linking.

Yaya/Gundogan should play the deep-lying creative role - I'd prefer Fernandinho only if we need to be very solid in the midfield/at-the-back to break up attacks - in this - arguably niche - role - given that we're much, much better than just about everyone we'll face - he's our best player.
