Postcodes are irrelevant to governance or countries The post office based postcodes on the major sorting centres to balance out the mail long gone are a lot of these centres but postcodes remain M postcode mail would be dropped from mail trains at a Manchester station from there to the Manchester sorting centre before distribution to sub offices for local sorting

Todmorden used to be designated “via Manchester.” in addresses. Eh ?

Yeah, i do agree it would have been a nice touch ... but the Sheikhs voice comes via the voice of chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who is always at the clubs games, and DID give Kevin a message on the Etihad screens at the end of the game.

Just watched it on the City website and pretty sure of current players there was no tribute from Kovacic, Walker (i know he's currently not in the squad), Savinho and McAtee, and none of the January intake. The first 2 are surprising, but the others less so i guess.

As to former players, David Silva perhaps most surprising, but also no Yaya, Otamendi, and as you say Clichy, Jesus among others. And Mendy, lol.

He may well stay at Napoli until he calls it a day with football, if his family settle there ...... and any such agreement or deal with Napoli is probably already in place!

McTominay was hardly doing cartwheels down the Old Trafford forecourt when he was first told Napoli were interested in him, but look at him now ..... being treated like a god, said to be learning italian, and fkn loves the place ... he wouldn't come back to Manchester in a month of sundays!!

Yep, i used to work for Royal Mail Engineers .... Oldham is an APC (automated processing centre), and a major sorting office.

And that was 22 years back, when I left ...... it can only have 'grown' even further now.

Both Oldham and Rochdale sorting offices handled certain areas of the OL postcode when i used to go to those offices, and probably still do.

But any mail posted in Manchester for those two areas will almost certainly go through Manchester APC on Oldham Road first .. before being transported by van or train to the Oldham or Rochdale offices.
