I am a 78 year old woman and have supported City since I was 9 years old. I don't live in Manchester and never have but this team captured me in the 1956 Cup Final. When I lived in London I became a season ticket holder and over years have seen all the greats. I sadly can no longer afford a season ticket.
Kevin is best I have ever seen in our glorious blue shirt. He is the type of player who takes your breathe away.
I played for QPR women's team back in the 70's and recently, we as a team, were invited to the Football Museum in Manchester and I mentioned that I had followed City all my life and that Kevin was my all time favourite.
Someone must have said something to the club because I recieved a video message from Kevin.
I will always be grateful he took the time to do that. He will never know what that means to me.
Wherever you go Kevin, I wish you nothing but the best. We will never see your like again but I am so happy I was around to see you in City Blue. Thank you. Now win that cup.
Im blubbing now !

Read his goodbye with a huge lump in my throat.
Been magnificent for us over his 10 years and the heartbeat of our greatest team, lets let him know how special it has been having him here watching him perform at the highest level and win, again, again, again and again.
How good would a a Wembley win be as his final game instead of some dead rubber away at Fulham.
I say that as will his contract not be up by the time of the Club World Cup? - that applies to all those out of contract this summer.

He is still at great player but since the injury in the CL final he just hasn't been the same player. Age has played a part. He is 34 when he leaves, he can go grab a hefty pay to ensure his kids kids security and he has won everything. Nothing to prove to anyone.
Thanks Kev it's absolutely the right time to call it a day

I know scary that isn't it - seems like the blink of an eye.
Best wishes to him and his family in their next chapter - whether that be Saudi Arabia or the US which appear his most likely destinations.
You've left us with fantastic memories sir and like others of your ilk will be forever welcome at God's own club
I can clearly remember Ian Cheeseman ( when he used to do Blue Tuesday on RManc) during August 2015 talking about KDB and saying he thought the transfer would happen but K hadn't handed in a transfer request to Wolfsburg, and would likely be xfer deadline day when he joined City. I think that's how it played out, but you are right so scary that 10 years have passed in what feels like the blink of an eye.

He won us that league Cup in 2016 with his earlier round performances in autumn 2015 before he was injured and missed the final and I realised in about 2 months what a gem we had.

A gobby Dipper of my acquaintance assured me in 2018 that KDB was only here for the money and would be gone by next contract signing. When I see this person again I'll advise them not to apply for any clairvoyant vacancies on New Brighton prom....!!

What a servant he's been.
Am so gonna miss him.

Arguably the best midfielder ever to grace the PL. Been an absolute joy to watch him play and he will be missed. So many fond memories, my personal favourite is the amazing arched pass to Sane to score against Stoke. All the best for the future Kev.

The pass for sane against Stoke, the ball over the top for Jesus for the 100 points, the goal at Stamford bridge that he thumped in from 30 yards, the ball for Bobb's last minute goal against newcastle. His 4 goals against wolves away, his goal at the bernabeu, the assists for haaland in the double hattrick derby, the goal against arsenal at home on the break, these are the unforgettable memories for me and that's nowhere near an exhaustive list, I could genuinely list another several dozen without having to think.

The man produced. We will all grow old talking about kdb's genius to the next generation who will be bored shitless of us reminiscing about it him. He'll be in every compilation and every conversation when discussing the best there's every been not just amongst city fans. But amongst football fans.

His song needs to be retired with him, I honestly think that's the best tribute us fans can give him. it cannot be repurposed for the next player that fits the tune. We've already had a few attempts when we don't have a song for a player, nobody can live up to kdb and nobody should inherit his song. It's a song we should sing for many years to come.

What a player! I idolised Bobby Johnstone as a lad and have seen all the club's greats since. I thought I'd never see anyone to compare with King Colin but ... Kinkladze was special and then of course David Silva gave us a golden decade. I have no intention of putting them in order of greatness and to do so would be insulting. Enough to say that KdB regularly made me doubt my own eyes and I say willingly that I have never seen anyone - any player at any English club at any time - who tops him for athleticism, control, ability to pick a pass and play it, or any other skill. Whay a player! Thanks for everything KdB and all the best in whatever you do in the future (unless, and god forbid, it involves the rags).

So the bbc run a poll asking is he greatest midfield player ever…we know the results already don’t we.

Pure clickbait
