A lot of people saying Kev's chosen the right moment but from Pep's comment it seems he wasn't offered a new contract.
Therefore he was forced to seek pastures new.
Both club and player have done themselves proud.

KDB was broken, it's the right time he left and it appears the club (CFG) have offered him the chance to stay in the group.

You could see in certain games that his legs couldn’t keep up with his brain.

It’s been discussed to death about city holding onto players for a tad too long and the same thing happened this season.

Kev can’t be sitting on the bench watching players who are not fit to lace his boots.

Painful but as like Dave we may never see his kind again. Time dictates we all must move on.

He will forever be immortalised by city fans. That is an honour in itself and a testament to his character as a person and a player. We got to watch greatness.

Up with Colin Bell & David Silva as best all time City players of all time for me, gutted but think it’s the right time. Thanks KdB. #GOAT

It's time but what a legend

Best of his generation in his position. On his day, nobody in his era came close to doing what he could do.

One of few players you'll genuinely never replace. Elite player in the true sense of the word and very few actually are. You only get a few in every generation of football.

You never replace players with like-for-like, Legends are just that, built with a time and place that is set in stone

So the bbc run a poll asking is he greatest midfield player ever…we know the results already don’t we.

Pure clickbait
Let’s all vote to make sure he wins… Sky have done one and he’s leading on there
