Feels like only yesterday I was camping in the transfer thread in 2015 when he "had his bags packed and was ready to join"

Best Mid ever in the prem for me, he really had everything and yet he remained humble and down to earth.

Even though I knew this was coming, this is still ten times more devastating than I would have expected. I'm actually upset at this. More than David Silva who I always say is our greatest ever player.
I feel this is like what people felt when Colin Bell went.
The same feeling but over a shorter time interval. Great players both, a privilege to watch them in blue.

Brilliant.
Thank you for sharing that
But when you said we will never see the like of keV again.
It made me think in the last 10 years we have seen Vinny..David Silva.
Kev.
Yaya..
And haaland..these players are genuinely world class.
Once in a life time players.
We have seen them in 10 years .
Aswell as others
We can argue who is better keV or Silva.
But it's a nice argument to have.. personally I think Silva is the best we have had.
Very very closely followed by keV
But that only what I think.
Forget trophies to see players like those two play for little old city has been absolutely amazing
I think David was the best at what he did and Kevin the same. They are so different. David was so clever and intricate and played in small spaces. Kevin is dynamic and looked a giant on the pitch, commanding. Both great, great players as we're the others you mentioned. I personally love them all.

What a player!
Has been a privilege to watch him over the last decade.
I am old enough to remember the King and for me KDB deserves to be remembered in the same fold.
Wish him the very best for whatever he decides to do.
Like Silva, Kompany and Aguero he will remain a legend of our modern era.

Yes
Silva controlled the game.
He controlled every city player on the pitch.
Like no player I've seen before..but kev played balls to team mates that weren't even on .not fair really to compare the two..maybe just be greatfull we got two watch two of the best players to ever play in this country..I know how lucky I have been to see them both actually in the ground live .
I don't think what ever happens in the future I'll ever see better than kev or el mago

I was just going to post that article.

It’s worth noting it’s by the proboscis monkey lookalike sly man stone…
Looking back at one time we had Yaya.
Silva and kev.
No way what ever players we sign could be better than that.
That was the Pinnacle of watching players play for city.
Just like Istanbul was the Pinnacle of winning things.. everything from then has to be down hill.. nothing will ever come close to what we have seen and archived in the last few years..but un like the rags we are thankful. And don't think we have a Divine right to be at the top .if that was it our period brilliant it was amazing..we won loads of trophies .watched unbelievable players and knocked those arrogant cunts down
We also know nothing last forever

The pass for sane against Stoke, the ball over the top for Jesus for the 100 points, the goal at Stamford bridge that he thumped in from 30 yards, the ball for Bobb's last minute goal against newcastle. His 4 goals against wolves away, his goal at the bernabeu, the assists for haaland in the double hattrick derby, the goal against arsenal at home on the break, these are the unforgettable memories for me and that's nowhere near an exhaustive list, I could genuinely list another several dozen without having to think.

The man produced. We will all grow old talking about kdb's genius to the next generation who will be bored shitless of us reminiscing about it him. He'll be in every compilation and every conversation when discussing the best there's every been not just amongst city fans. But amongst football fans.

His song needs to be retired with him, I honestly think that's the best tribute us fans can give him. it cannot be repurposed for the next player that fits the tune. We've already had a few attempts when we don't have a song for a player, nobody can live up to kdb and nobody should inherit his song. It's a song we should sing for many years to come.
Yes the pass for Jesus for the 100 points was sublime...how could we forget that #KDB

Top 3 midfielder in PL history, arguably the best. The best player to ever play for city.

I don't think it's arguable. He is the greatest midfielder in PL history. People will mention Scholes or Gerrard but they had their strengths and weaknesses. De Bruyne was better than the best they could produce. Want a pass on a six pence like Scholes, De Bruyne does it but onto someone's run so they can score. Want someone with the drive to lead the team or pick up the ball and make something happen, De Bruyne over Gerrard any day of the week.

The rag and dipper PR machine will promote those two ahead of him but it's bollocks. De Bruyne is the greatest.

To think he was a £55m flop when we bought him...not too shabby that deal now!
