Kev was the German Footballer of the Year when these morons made those comments!
Even if you never seen the player play, the logic is still not there. Forget styles, type of player etc.

Highly rated young player is bought by Chelsea, plays under notoriously shit developer of youth players Mourinho. Leaves goes to Germany, is central to a relatively unfashionable club (nothing wrong with that Wolfsburg are a great club) having one of their best ever seasons.

But he has no chance.

There should be a rule, anytime they offer an opinion on a young player that clip is played.

I love this goal. Away at the defending champions early in the centurions season. Chelsea had gone into that game absolutely confident of victory.

Real statement of intent.

Was in that away end. Didn’t even see it hit the net, just knew that once he’d hit it that it was going in. Unfortunately so did about 10 lads in rows behind me and we all piled on top of each other, limbs everywhere!

Edit: I was upper tier. Lower tier limbs were shite

One of the standout games under Pep for me that one. Total control and composure throughout, with clean, accurate passing doing the business. Vintage City.

As much as I love Kevin, this is the right decision and gives me a lot of confidence that we will get this rebuild right. Ruthlessness is the most important component, and I am sure a winner like Kev understands and respects that. He helped us become the best club in the world, now he should wind down and let the next generation of players help him harvest being a club legend in the best club in the world. That is how you get eternal life as an all-time great
It’s only the right decision if we’ve sewn someone up to replace him.

Just to echo what so many have said. Probably the greatest player to ever play for City. For me the greatest midfielder of the PL era by a distance. I'm not sure there's actually been a better midfielder in the world full stop in my lifetime. Sounds weird but being a ginger kid from Belgium as opposed to being from Spain or Brazil or even Argentina, has stopped him getting the accolades he deserves.

From the club's POV, I can understand why they've chosen not to renew him. The club can't standstill and has to keep moving forward. We've wrung every ounce of quality out of a generation of players. Time for a new generation to step forward.

I was actually in the main stand near the tunnel. Had to sit on my hands and just said “well it’s been coming.” The lads around me all agreed.

I can still remember actually hearing the noise, from 50 yards away, of it hitting the back of the net, and one of the things about that “every angle” film is that the view from behind Courtois’ goal gives you an idea of just how hard he hit it.

On top of this news it made me think....who can you see in the current squad will reach this status of legend of the club when they do leave?

There are the obvious in Haaland and Rodri and probably Foden.....
Gundo already did ....Bernardo is another big shout as well

But is there actually anyone else after those of the current squad moving forward that we can see rising to this level of consistent performance and leaderships that can go on to emulate the likes of KDB, David Silva and Sergio, Kompany, Zabba Ferna and Yaya? - the aura and ability those players had right from the off was there for all to see....

I actually cant see many of the players moving forward achieving that

Shows you how spoilt we have been

Rodri is the only one at the level of football quality of DSilva, Yaya, Agüero and De Bruyne.

Haaland is a huge name and a top goal scorer, but he’s not as good a footballer as any of them.

I get that thinking, but for me it is the right decision regardless. We have carried too many past it players in midfield this year, leading to Pep recklessly starting them all together and losing point after point doing it.

Anyway, the attacking midfield will absolutely be put money into the summer. Also a huge season for Bobb next year, who I don't really buy as the current messiah he has grown into during his injury but I do think he has the ceiling of a world-class player

When Yaya was Haalands age he was still playing in Ukraine so seems premature at best.

Also I don’t really buy that Haalands not as good a footballer as those. If they could have scored a goal a game, they would have, they weren’t good enough at that aspect of football, goal scoring is not some separate thing from footballing ability.

agree on rodri

Understand what you are saying about Haaland BUT its not just about his technical ability - he does the hardest thing in football (put the ball in the net) better than anyone. He is also a leader on the pitch and he is committed to the cause..
If he stays the length of his contract (or even close) he will smash the goal scoring record for the club (and maybe the league as well). He wins us games...His all around game is not as good as Agueros and weirdly he is not even a good a striker of the ball BUT his positional sense (in the box) is the very best and thats what gets him the goals - and this is a real skill in itself and on that is possibly underrated.

I think the original point shows how big a rebuild we need....

There is potential in the squad - Bobb for instance and maybe Gvardiol - but Im not sure about the rest.....very good players and could win things but there is no certainty

Huge rebuild is needed

Stonesy is already there for me.

If Foden fucks it up from here I will be speechless. I am 99% percent sure this season is just a perfect storm of him being tired physically and mentally and the whole team and dressung room stinking it out making it difficult to recover. I hope he comes back with a vengeance next season
