I just find it baffling that we allow Kev to leave - someone who can still change a game - yet we will probably keep Bernardo who offers absolutely nothing..
probably because Kev is 3 years older and maybe injuries have not been as kind to his body.

i'd love to keep Kev but age catches up with us all.

I'd be getting rid of Akanji, Stones and Ake.

If Josko is finally now recognised as a centre back, he would have Khusanov, Dias, Bah and Reis to supplement.

Love Ake and Stones, but contracts are almost up and might be last chance to cash in, as they will defo want to go to World Cup next year.

As for Akanji, I've never trusted him and never will. He just has too many lapses in concentration and was a decent pick up for £14m.

On another day, he would have been responsible for City losing the Champions League final and not winning away at Spurs last season.

I'd also say Ruben needs to buck up.
I’d wait on Ake though as it seems his injuries related to one issue that they have hopefully fixed now.

There was a report recently that Akanji was offered to Madrid but they weren't interested but if true if looks like he's been told to look for a new club.

Almost all City news breaks from the press conferences and embargoes press conference releases. City fans would do well to learn their schedule and listen to them so as to understand the context rather than read later snippets.
The pre embargoed parts of the pressers are shocking but the meaty stuff is always talked about after the embargo and I always find Pep talks in far more detail and far more honesty.

This season has shown the need for a bigger squad and so I think we need to bring in players before we decide who can leave. I have thought that KdB has suffered from injuries more than from age and I would be very reluctant to let him leave. He says he is free from pain for the first time in a while. His time needs managing. But whether City can pay £350 000 per week to a player who plays fewer than half our matches is for the club to decide. There is no doubt that my decision would be influenced by sentiment and the Kevin we saw on Saturday was better than we have seen for a while and still a class above some of those very good Palace players who have been suggested as replacements.

Him staying or not has divided opinion. Him staying and on 350k a week would be absolute madness.

Release clause isnt a problem but it seems the player fancies the dippers?
Looks all tied up to them from where I'm looking - a bit like when they got MacAllister

Also, we don't actually buy left backs do we?

On the De Bruyne topic - there's only probably 2 or 3 clubs I wouldn't want him to join, beyond that I wish him all the luck in the world in his next venture

Akanji cost us nothing , I would sell Dias and accept 45 -50 million , he has lost whatever speed he has ,and also is average on the ball and never scores .

I would sell Stones ,Ake and Dias

I agree, I’d even be tempted to get rid of all of the existing centre halves bar Gvardiol.

Have Gvardiol, Khusa, Bah and Reis. Then sign a top drawer one in summer.

Pep and Kevin said he felt pain free on Saturday for the first time in a long time and boy did it show. He might not be the Kevin of a few years ago but he was still the best player on the field. If and it's a big if, he could stay like that then a one year extension with the option of two should definitely be offered, on reduced wages of course. We'd be crazy to lose that experience, leadership and skill from the squad.

were going to have a problem if he turns it on again at Everton and again against villa, all be it a good problem
If that was to happen though...wouldn't you find it strange that as soon as the club decide to let him go, his performances massively improve almost instantly?

No, Kev said he is now pain free for about 6 weeks. For the NT he was excellent in the 2 games against Ukraine. After that he was on the bench for City until the derby againt ManU.
