I saw this online and, honestly, and without recency bias, my brain flipped between the two a couple of times.

I rate KDB very highly and want to say the kid's right, BUT for 'leadership' when Toure wanted to drag the team forward he would run that whole f'kin midfield!

I'm torn...

Although your possibly right, Yaya had days when he couldn't be arsed. I don't think Kev did.

KDB's City career is nearing it's end.

I think we are all hoping he can just go out in a blaze of glory, he's been an unbelievable player for us.

He's obviously going to play in all of the remaining fixtures, I really hope he can find some form, get us top 5 and help us win next saturday, but the reality today he was really poor.
KDB's career with us ended with that serious hamstring injury, came back and did very well for a short period then his body said enough.

Even his passing , dead balls and shooting has dropped off the scale, he's done, let go and just remember the glory days.

Can say it as much as he wants in the media, but he's clearly not at the level we need anymore.

I'm sure he'll do great in Serie A (wherever) but he's lost the edge he needs to succeed in the PL, especially at the incredible levels he's set in the past.

Everything went through him yesterday and it was all below par. Shooting, passing, crossing - all off the mark. It's been the same in too many matches to hold hope of him returning to peak KDB.

Who knows with Pep. Will probably be benched next Saturday and Jack starts like semi

Why are we telling him on one hand he’s not good enough for us next season but on the other hand playing him every game for 90 minutes
1 game a week, even then he's struggling against average players now. He was on his last legs last season, we can't be sentimental if we want to rise to the top team in Europe again.

Exactly. He won’t be here next season not because he want ms to go but because the club don’t want him. He’s not good enough anymore so play someone that maybe here next season and maybe bring him in the last half hour or something.

He’s was shite yesterday and he wouldn’t even take him off

Agree from what I saw he was poor but problem is when you’re chasing a goal you need to keep the players capable of a bit of magic on. But one of him and Bernardo shouldn’t have started

This absolutely baffles me. The only explanation I can come up with is that Pep doesn’t rate anyone in the squad over his aging legs and we’ve not offered him an extension because we have a new signing boxed off already.

yes its strange. not good enough to stay which I agree with but Pep doesnt want to hear about not starting him. will be interesting what he does next season if we dont get Wirtz or similar creator but given some baffling new transfers. we might see Gundogan way more often hahahahaha.

Correct. Like with Kevin, Toure's last couple of years with us were underwhelming. For three or four years (say 2011 -14, maybe 15) though, he was an absolute beast for us.
Even in his Prime I reckon YaYa paced himself to give us an exceptional 45 minutes and Coast the rest of the game whereas king Kev was always a 90 minutes + man and of unwavering quality or effort

How any supposedly City “fan” can use words like “shite” and other derogatory words to describe Kev contribution astounds me. The player has absolutely given his all to our club, and tried to weather major injuries sustained after all in “giving his all to the club”. Alright the lad is coming to a career end, sad but it happens. Let him down gently, he has been the king and the fact our set pieces are rubbish is coaching staff fault not Kevin’s, we had better set pieces when Bell, Lee and Summerbee where playing.
