I was surprised to read that he was taking his coaching badges. He once said that he had no interest in football when he wasn’t playing and would rather watch Peppa Pig with his kids than a football match.

I suspect that Gundogan is probably ahead of him in the queue of former players looking for a coaching rule.

it amused me when Rodri said that he had studied Pep and Begiristain and come to the conclusion that Director of Football was a much better job than managing when it comes to preserving ones sanity. I wonder if Kev might be better suited personality wise to that role.
I've always thought there was a select group of players who were more than likely to come back as coaches once they'd hung up their boots: Kevin, Gundo, Fernandinho and Rodri. They always struck me as great thinkers of the game. Wonder which defenders would make good coaches? The obvious one is Vinnie, no one else really seems the type, Stones, Walker, Laporte etc. The only other City player who might become a coach would be Bernie.

I know nowt, fast forward 30 years the titans of the coaching world will probably be Hooolian Alvarez Vs Eric Garcia!!!!

All things must pass, it is the right time for Kevin to go. Will always picture him his red cheeks puffing, short back and sides, scoring a trademark thunderbastard, or passing to Haaland on a postage stamp. Goodbye and good fortune, sir.

Don't forget the SPF 10 billion, mate!

...and Ferna

He got the full set - road, statue and mosaic
That mural on the side of that building was fantastic.
I wandered past it by accident and almost got knocked down by an e scooter in my attempts to get a selfie.
I think its going to be there for a few more days.

Busily downloading lots of video clips of the presentation and speeches in order to compile a video that my wife and I can watch on the TV in the future alongside those others I had made of our recent legends.
Erm…yes please;)

You have to be cruel to be kind

KDB can still do it, but not at the ratio that top-level City needs, from 1 in 3 games to 1 in 10 games is a big drop off
Also, playing 3 games in a week will be a problem for KDB.

Somebody is going to get 2 years out of him in Europe, or 3 or 4 in the USA or Saudi Arabia
Playing in the Premier League is so demanding at the top, and fully committed is a young man's game

Who knows? Somebody could come in and take his place and be flying, Pep and City will find out pretty fast and will have to change the system if it goes tits up, I would love to see Claudio Echeverri given a Messi type role in a new system, A player running at the central defenders and slide the ball into Haaland
I wouldn't expect him to pay 2 matches a week (3 is a bit silly, it's rare you get a Sunday-Midweek-Saturday sequence and you rotate depending on the opposition), but if you look at the likes of Modric at Real Madrid , they considered him good enough to come on at 39 years old.

My point is he might not have been a regular but he could have played a part which might have been enough to change the course of a game. All I'm saying is we could regret it.

I don't think Kev could do the man management and he seems like the sort of fella who will be happy to give live a quiet happy family life when it's all done.

Modric departing Madrid. Room for Kev?
I love Modric, always despised the fact he played for that shower of Real Mardarses. He can still influence a game now, as he has done several times in recent seasons yo our disadvantage.

Kev won't tarnish himself by going to Real. He has far too much class for that shyster club.

I'm an owd sod and get sentimental sometimes, especially when drinks been taken.
Colin was my boyhood hero, then along came David, but Kevin has always been my favourite, all three of them
utter Gents,no true football fan would deny that , and all three City legends.

My favourite Kevin moment,we were pressing like mad for the opener and getting frustrated, then he did this, made it happen, still to this day gets me everytime I see his one sightedness to break through.

Stunning.
