I was surprised to read that he was taking his coaching badges. He once said that he had no interest in football when he wasn’t playing and would rather watch Peppa Pig with his kids than a football match.

I suspect that Gundogan is probably ahead of him in the queue of current or former players looking for a coaching rule.

it amused me when Rodri said that he had studied Pep and Begiristain and come to the conclusion that Director of Football was a much better job than managing when it comes to preserving ones sanity. I wonder if Kev might be better suited personality wise to that role.

Didn't Rodri complete his business degree in Manchester. Maybe the business of football interests him more than coaching/player management?

Am I the only one wondering why this party wasn’t held next Monday?
Will the players be in the same state they were in last seasons cup final c the rags this coming Sunday?

Must admit it seems premature. Maybe Kev's booked on the first flight out of Heathrow on Monday morning?

More to the point there's some shocking outfits on display - looking at you Phil, Doku and Big Erl

Last person (Grealish as per) left at 1.30am from the report I read which is nowhere near as bad as the title celebrations before the cup final last year. Still stupid though and opens the door to criticism if they don't secure that point against Fulham.

He probably doesn't give a fuck as he knows Pep isn't playing him and he will be off at the end of the season.

Agreed. Probably didn't leave much later than anybody else on this occasion. Don't think it's a great look though when you aren't getting in the team.

Think everybody found his partying quite amusing in the treble celebrations and as a one off. Personally found it a bit tedious last year with his contribution towards the title win not being anywhere near as significant. You'd have thought he'd have been a bit more sensible and wanted to feature in the cup final the following week. Think it said a lot that he didn't even get on the pitch that day despite how shit/hungover they all were.

I'm having a few pints watching all of Kev's goals and getting emotional, so many goals I've seen live, forgot about or just remembered what an actual talent he is. Top 5 Prem player of all time, fuck Scholes he's nowhere near our Kevin.

Arguably the best. Don't think Ronaldo played in the Premier League long enough to get that mantle.

With regards to midfielders he could do everything all the others could do, but even better. Closest player to him would probably be Gerrard. When I was growing up we were rather tripe and Slippy was my favourite PL player. Kev is far more creative than him though and a better passer of a ball. The Scholes and Lampard comparisons I find quite insulting. Fantastic players in their own right don't get me wrong, but they're not fit to lace Kev's boots.

Kevin's assists per minute is significantly better than anybody else in the leagues history and certainly Gerrard (32 in PL) and Lampard's (43 in PL) goalscoring records are padded with penalties. Take away the penalties and his goals to games ratio in the league is better than Gerrard/Lampard/Scholes et al too. You can get too bogged down with stats and it just backs up the point. Iconic moments/memories he wins hands down too.

I can't recall anybody really getting the better of KDB in a game whereas the others got done with a bit of frequency.... especially when wearing an England shirt.

Agreed. The attributes of all the best attacking midfield players rolled into one. Had it all in his locker to totally flip a game on its head.

Scholes was great no doubt. But i agree not top 5

I get the feeling all the ex pro’s who say scholes is the best ever say it only because they think it makes them look super knowledgable

This bastard's making me wobble again. Struggles to keep it together numerous times when talking about the supporters. Fucking love him.

Wow what a gent.

Is easier to forget these players have the same shit we have to deal with. That week dealing with two deaths in the family and still going out to do your job in public.

It's easy to criticise players but we don't know what's happening in their lives.

Lampard scored over double KDB's goals and has a better goals to game ratio with or without penalties.

That is unless you take away Lampard's penalties but take leave KDBs in his total, but why would you do that? Lampard was 36 at City and still able to make meaningful contributions, hardly an insult to be compared to him.

I loved Lampard, but he wasn't as dynamic as Kevin.

Lamps at Chelsea 429 league games 147 league goals
Kev at City 284 league games 72 league goals

I removed the penalties as Lampard was always regarded as a goal scoring midfielder. I don't ever think that's ever been labelled with Kevin because people focus on his assists. In reality they're a similar threat and both being around 1 in 4 in open play. Of course Frank excelled at West Ham before he even went to Chelsea.

Scholes was a fantastic player.

Every time this thread gets bumped I instantly think he got a red card.

I believe thats the first time he's mentioned why he done the celebration against Madrid.

What a man and player to pick himself up and carry us through the game in Madrid and then seal the deal a week later.
