Well i cant remember many players retiring from this but it must really be serious on whatever medical advice he was given. I did wonder over the years how there hasnt been many players retiring from head injuries over the years. The power and force some players hit the ball and if your using your head a lot and picking up knocks as any outfield player would do. I wonder will this decision see more players retiring from football earlier.

I know Kevin Doyle wasnt a major player or anything in footballing terms but could we see more players doing the same in the future. Lets be honest if they played at a high level they wont need the money to play on and there health would be more important than any money in the world.

Yeah lets wait and see what happens next. He is the first I have known to retire from concussions. We know how big it is in other sports like NFL and rugby.

I know in rugby if the players get a concussion they generally are out for 7 to 10 days. I wonder if in football they will bring in a rule like that too. Just hope we dont see many more players having to retire early because of this.
