Translated into the language of actualité means six years and 2.9bn to rebuild, plus, as @LangleyBlue1970 has said, another few million in bungs.

I think that was what was reported as expected with 6 people missing, now presumably confirmed. It is awful and for their families. But it is also incredible for the length of it and the scale of the collapse. But as noted, the reactions to shut the bridge and the time of night was the one somewhat silver lining.

It took 4.5 years to build it initially. At a cost of £250m. That's nearly a 10 fold inflation increase in just under 50 years.

On a similar note I watched the old and new Roadhouse on consecutive nights. Man that guy's bouncer rates have gone up a fair amount!
