Khaldoon End Of Season Interview Thread

Lets not kid ourselves.Years ago had that been United whinging because they had won fuck all and bleating about it,Blue Moon would have been in meltdown, claiming the arrogance of the fans.
Now the shoes on the other foot we are acting in a likewise manner. We ask and demand for success, but when it doesn`t arrive we kick off big style and the world and his wife at City get the blame. The only fuckers who don`t get shouted at are the tea ladies. ;)

We are a fan base that has all sorts, those who get giddy over a chairmans standard positive statement, those who spend all day checking out the transfer forum in June because someone has posted a you tube video, those that will never be happy and the majority in between who have been around long enough to take it all with a pinch of salt.

Some happy clappers see realism as being negative, I tend to reserve my optimism for something a tad more substantial, the club has changed beyond recognition and I am extremely happy about that, expectation has been raised so we can only judge on that basis

Completely agree with the bits in bold. Khaldoon was clear that the manager has underachieved, without hanging him out to dry which would be of no use to anyone. It's going to be a strange season as we are clearly going to re-build the squad with some big signings for the future, but under essentially an interim manager who is keeping the seat warm for when a serious manager arrives summer 2016.

Yes, that's totally what he said. Really. Glad you read between the lines. We are now a club who are happy to just waste a year.

There's being disappointed and there's being negative. As kaldoon said he wants to sweep last year under the carpet and move on. Moving on and picking yourself up after disappointment is probably the better mentality to have instead of questioning every little thing this club does. The club is ran better than it ever has been and better then any of us can do so accept the disappointment look at what went wrong and where improvements need to be made and be ruthless about it. Which is exactly what our club, proven by the chairman's own words in part one of the interview, are doing.

I can't possibly see why so many city fans can get upset, this club is in its best ever state. No money grabbing players any more, already won every domestic trophy, trying to compete for the very best available players, we have the best facilities in the world and a newly expanded stadium with affordable seasons tickets. We are the best club in the premier league, ran profitably without pushing out fans and still competing in every major competition without losing our soul and forgetting out history.

What a fantastic post. Brilliantl

Some excellent points hilts, and yes our giddiness seems to hit an all time high come the transfer windows. The only thing that I get pissed of about is some fans think that by playing FIFA games,it should be happening in the real world. All this nonsense that players a,b and c, SHOULD have been signed last season, well if someone wants to piss off to another club then theres not a lot we can do about it,irrespective of our wealth.
I`m more than happy mate and am really looking forward to next season with a lot of optimism.

That's not really what he said is it. I do find it a little odd we've not offered Pellers at least a token extension, it puts a lot of faith in these players ability to motivate themselves when at times that's clearly been lacking over the past few years.

No he can't but what goes on on the pitch is the most important thing, not what the chairman says.

Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh. I've said before that Khaldoon is a far more important person in Abu Dhabi than most of our supporters realise. I have great faith in him and the Sheikh to deliver what they and we want. I'm also pleased that he takes the time to speak to the fans, unlike many other high profile owners and chairmen. He's a class act and occasionally he's even said or hinted at something interesting.

But mostly he says things that are safe and pretty predictable.
surprised at your posts myself, you have been waxing lyrical about our owners particularly the work behind the scenes (the trying to get messi posts of a year or so ago,).To me these end of season speeches are always safe and predictable ,however i still find them a positive experience .Whilst we agree that the team come first ,addressing the problems with sufficient funds to do so ,whilst leaving the clubs finances in a healthy position ,i can't really find a fault there, unless you have information that we will have watered down targets of what is reported ,or that pellegrini isn't the man to spend it which is another issue

"Safe and predictable". What is he supposed to say oh wise one? We are all shit and I don't rate any of them? It's a public site for heavens sake. My word this site gets dafter by the minute!

I'd imagine part two will have a question on the stadium expansion, a question on The City Football Group and the club's marketing strategy, a question about the new complex and then some more good old rabble-rousing about the future.

he's a good salesman and spin-merchant

I posted about this earlier. It's certainly no ringing endorsement for Pellegrini. It's a clear message that we are sticking with him and backing him but we must do better. There's no surprise in that whatsoever, of course. That's entirely the correct approach. He obviously has credit in the bank for the double winning season, they've acknowledged the problems we've had last season, they are going to give him the tool but he must deliver this season.

I think it summed up the Manchester City board and the Abu Dhabi way: loyal, supportive, not knee jerk, but with extremely high expectations. A good business strategy.

Stop posting sensible things man! More stupid knee jerk reactions are needed on here!

i wish our chairman would come out with more interviews............when i sit and listen to him......how can i explain............. hes just so reassuring and warm and pleasant and sensible and you can feel the love and aspirations he has for club and its future. We have a wonderful future too look forward too.

Get him out the door now, always said he was a terrible shocking boss xD
Muffin? Fucking muffin? That is a joke! I bet Dave Whelan calls it a barm! Get rid and drag him out of retirement to run our great club! I bet Khaldoon has never broke a leg in a cup final either!

I think he needs to apologize for the blue shorts and commit to white shorts for the next 100 years....

I am a pro Khaldoon Barmist, this leaves me in a small boat it would seem :-D

I think it is a very good interview, well measured in everything he mentions.
His clear focus, determination and confidence are very reassuring. I would not swap him for the world tbh, cool as you like this man is.
