Many people couldn’t give a single fuck about what some bloke who runs La Liga or the top brass at United and Liverpool have bitterly slapped their knees about and said about us.

I want to know about ticket prices and the development of the stadium and surroundings more than some “xxx is a shit stirrer, ignore him, just concentrate on facts”. That is what many of us do already.

I've tried linking a David Conn article on Liverpool from the Guardian in 2006 but haven't been able to do so. He never stipulated. I imagine they'll want to see what happens in China (building from a lower-division club) and learn from that experience before committing.

So the question on stadium expansion was not really answered.
Other than that it was good.

He seemed to indicate that we'd be biding our time until safe-standing is allowed as this is being factored into what happens to the North Stand. Makes perfect sense to me.

The thing is he still never even mentioned one word about the main detractors; the media.

The name of our club is dragged through the mud by the media far more than it is by Tebas, the Glazers or John Henry. But he never said a word about that.

While it raised a smirk from me for him to talk about these people derogatorily, he still just told us to ignore them and just be concerned about facts.

The most interesting parts of the interview was that it appears he - and Sheikh Mansour - are here for the long haul and that he, and the club, are pro-Safe Standing.

I would have liked more detail on that and the long term plans of the site as a whole. We didn’t get it, but they don’t tend to work like that anyway and only release information on that side of the business when it’s set in stone.

The rest is just playground tittle tattle. Which is why he never got too bogged down talking about it and never mentioned the media, because it’s pointless.
