Khaldoon's End of Season Review | Pt 1 (p26) | Pt 2 (p40)

Perhaps you should concentrate a little harder then, I didn't think our actual performances last season made us particularly worthy title winners, we didn't really achieve it with any real style or panache or by playing exciting expansive football and it was clearly obvious then that a number of our most senior players were rapidly reaching a point where they're simply not able to perform any more to the incredibly high standards they have previously been capable of.

4th title in a row.... not worthy because we didn't win style points.

You've got to question the Chairman early doors when things are going pear, otherwise you end up with a PJ situation.

Yep we've got to question the chairman who has created a team that has led us to be the best club of the last decade.

He's got a point tbf. There has been a drop off in terms of fluidity in the last year or so but the mentality has carried us through. However the difference in our opinions is that I don't see this as a systemic issue but instead an extraordinary one. We've had so much bad luck go against us in terms of injury and overplaying and individual errors that I think this squad isn't as poor or "finished" as many others do. The plan seems to have been to rebuild this summer anyway and perhaps we've tried one window too long, but it's not an insurmountable thing I'm still confident of a top 2 finish.
