No it wasn't the law back thenAre you sure it wasn't against law back then? Pretty sure it's always been part of the trespass laws.
Anyway we need to bring the innocence back.
Trespass is a civil offence so "not against the law" The regulations that cover unauthorised entry on to the field of play are covered from 1991 under the football offences act
"It is an offence for a person at a designated football match to go onto the playing area, or any area adjacent to the playing area to which spectators are not generally admitted, without lawful authority or lawful excuse (which shall be for him to prove)"
