Anyone know if City are bringing out anything special for kids like the live for city card?

Or do they just have to buy a blue membership?

I got an email from the club last week to say that Live4City was now cancelled and that kids would have to have a Blue membership with Priority booking to have the same benefits as Live 4 City. That's me £50 further out of pocket before a ball has been kicked! lol

I spoke to ticket office today and apparently you can buy an adult ticket and order tickets for kids then ask them to link to your child's ticket to their Blue membership card. And yes this would be without the priority option added!!

good of the club to make all this known? Perhaps they are waiting til September to announce it on the website ?

I emailed Danny Wilson about the issue of junior membership, and he rang me on Tuesday to discuss it. He said that there is going to be a junior membership but that it's still with the Marketing Dept and hasn't been finalised. He didn't know when it will be officially announced. I did say that we are getting very close to the beginning of the season, and he just said that they've been working on the other memberships and the online ticketing, and that they are working as fast as they can.

He told me that they are instructing Supporter Services staff that an adult can buy a ticket on his Blue Membership and can buy for his kids (who presumably also have to have Blue - Danny wasn't too clear on this) when the adult has priority. I took that to mean that if an adult has bought ticket priority and gets vanilla £10 membership for his bin lid they can still buy tickets together in the priority period.

But please don't just take this as gospel, check it with City - I may have misinterpreted what Danny was saying and I wouldn't want anybody missing out on a game because I got it wrong.

This whole issue has wound me up (as I said in previous post)

I was told that my two kids would have to get blue membership WITH priority to be able to get tickets when I do. I argued and said whats the point as they are both under 14 and unable to attend on their own anyway (hence why could not get them a £95 season ticket even though they would only go with us but work out cheaper by the time we have bought the Blue Card for them) so what use is priority for them ?

I was told I had to get priority for them so £100 plus the 4 tickets at £70 for the family stand means £170 for the first match of the season.

Who'd have thought paying that much to watch Swansea :(

Only place I know that charges the same for children and adults. Still fuming about it and sent emails in but seems they are just money grabbing at this one.

Here is the reply I got back from City a couple of weeks ago, in which they state that I would have to get them the priority membership or they would have to wait until 6 weeks after I got my ticket before I could get theirs!!

"Hi Mark – the live4city cards are now expired and should be destroyed but the children’s supporter numbers are still active. Should you wish your children to accompany you to the game/games, simply ring 0161 444 1894, option 1 quoting your children’s supporter numbers and they will be issued with paper tickets for each/every game you select.

Please note that Blue membership is available to your children at a cost of £25 per head. If you decided to go with this all of you would be able to purchase match tickets 6 weeks in advance. If you decided against it you would be able to book your tickets 6 weeks in advance and your children would have to wait for open sale.

Hope this is a reasonable explanation!"

As we go to most games it would have been a lot cheaper to get season tickets in the family stand - however, when I was looking I couldn't get 3 seats together. I was therefore somewhat surprised to phone up on Tuesday and got 3 seats directly behind the goals half way up the lower tier!!

why don't they announce all this officially then?

a lot of people will be under the impression that the Live4City scheme is still going and will be in for a big shock when they try and buy tickets for their children

going from a free Live4City membership for U16's which included 2 league matches a season for £5 to making kids pay £10-25 just to be able to buy a match ticket is totally at odds with the supposed attempt to make the club more child and family friendly (huge Family Stand , £95 season tickets etc)

It seems to me that MCFC have not thought all this through properly?

I rang the club to discuss and was told that I had to but blue memberhsip for the kids and that I had to buy the priority booking on top. The deal was that the kids tickets would be cheaper. It seems to me that they don't really know what is going on?

To be fair, a fiver apiece for the kids and 25 quid for an adult is fantastic value and over the course of the season the extra £25 for priority booking still makes it accessable for most families. But they do need to clarify the situation ASAP.

Dont know if anyone has seen this from the club but If they introduce a new scheme after I have just spent £25 on a membership card for my 4 year old so I an take him to the odd game I will not be happy.
