Everyone knows the bass is more important than the treble,

I live next door to a precessional double bass player.
Anything from Micheal Jackson, usually is a top notch baseline, on accuostic its just nuts.

Has to be his earlier work though, with 'Off the Wall' as my personal fav. Anything following the Bad album is, well, mostly bad as far as the bass goes.
I don't think he actually employs any real bass players from that point on and just resorts to a synth bass.
