What about Sterling's misses this season.... And all our world class players penalty misses? Sadly Smith's career is defined by one miss in the last minute of one game.... Unfairly so.

He looked ok in the second division I suppose.

He was a stylish player.you can be stylish in a 5 a side match,a non league match....doesnt mean your the best player on the pitch,or top gosl scorer..just that you played the game with style.Smiths ball control and close dribblimg skills ,throughout his career..are what i can remember,regardless of what division,or if he ever missed an open goal.He was very similar,imo,to the old Aberdeen inside forward,Mark Mcghee.both players troubled defenders with adroit ball control.

I think the last time I bought KOTK it had a cartoon of Kevin Keegan on the front.
I used to like the articles written by Tangled Up In Blue.(Which I think is also a Bob Dylan song).
But each article is only the opinion of each contributor. Same as on here really.
I might as well read and discuss all things City on here for free,instead of paying £5 for the privilege on KOTK.

Yes I seen it & great memories and it was what is was back then , You can't rewrite history & wether the PC on here don't like it it was a fuc*ing buzz watching City in them days
What gets me is some Mard arses on here will glorify in them days but tut tut if some one spills a coke a cola & complain there is no vegan burger left at half time
While we were blagging to away games on trains back then ,majority of fans were late teens early & mid twenties & up for a buzz .Kids of 10 & 12 onwards were singing their heads of in the Kippax & Platt lane Now a days alot of fans of that age just can't afford the games ,
We are losing a generation of City fans due to the club's greed
That is a disgrace our club should be ashamed of
The PR people who termed "match day experience " experience wernt around to see the toilets in the kippax , the police escorts to the games ,violent police officers ,shit greenhalls " beer" The battles before during & after the game
Trouble with City now is we have become everything we despised about the rags
I hardly come on here now but After a few Effes in Turkey thought I would have my Lira's worth lol

The difference, of course, is with fanzines there was no anonymity. If you wrote something stupid, you'd have people coming up to your face and discussing it with you (or in my case getting a weak slap from a fellow fanzine editor) where as on here other than a few fellow Blues who stick their head above water (such as @Prestwich_Blue or yourself Don and myself who reveal our true identity), you end up with a % of nutters on all football forums winding others up / acting hard behind a screen and a hiding behind anonymity

The minute I read and heard this phrase I smelt a PR rat! Those who had been going to matches seasons before these PR wallahs told us what we should 'experience' had a firm grasp on what going to a football match was all about.

I agree 100% with everything you mention in your post Don.
Apart from the comment about Greenalls beer.
The bitter was like piss water,so I went for a very tasty alternative,also brewed by Greenalls.
A bottle or two of Bullseye Brown was a bit more expensive than bitter, but the taste was 10 times better.

Hearing King of the Kippax being shouted on the concourse has been common place for nearly 40 years.

Always reminded me of Maine Road when I heard it at the new ground.

Seldom see it nowdays but loved it back in the day, the issues after the Maine Rd massacre, the sick swan, Blackburn promotion and best of all Gillingham play off. Their was a superb article about three guys trip to London for the weekend for the match. It felt like you were there with them. It captured perfectly one of the great moments in our clubs history. Always had a chat with Dave Wallace when I bought the mag of him, sadly last one I bought was after the sick swan.
