King of the Kippax | Last ever edition (p 20)

I often bought a copy outside the ground. I would read it cover to cover over a couple of weeks. I found the articles informative and amusing. Very well written and produced by many hard working and talented people. It will be sadly missed .

Yep I did too but with covid and that I just got out of the habit all together? Then they seemed to stop selling at the ground or I didn’t have cash if I did see the seller? Will deffo keep an eye out for the final issue though

You tend to associate fanzines with failure at a club, where they provide an outlet for the fans' discontent. But there's rarely been a shortage of things to write about even when we've been incredibly successful.

My material mainly came from financial stuff, particularly FFP and all the shit associated with that and it's really only in a long-form publication like KOTK that you can properly do that justice. I'm so grateful to Dave & Sue for giving me the opportunity and platform to do that. Some of the regulars are hoping to carry on writing but it will be online, possibly via Substack or something similar. After all, we've still got the PL case to get through.

I have some old pin badges and a few old copies but I'll be honest, since the Etihad move, I've only grabbed 2 or 3 KOTKs. Barely buy programmes these days too.

All part of the experience. Some parts are vanishing. The coffee is still crap, though.

International Wales is finishing but Alternative Wales established itself in the last few years. They do things like a podcast too.

I’ve never bought it but the fella with glasses and long ish hair shouting “Kiiiiing of the Kippax” has been part of the furniture for years.

Is it not a thing anymore?
That bloke hasn’t changed one bit in 25 years. He took the mantle of the age defying long haired guy who sold the pink outside the Platt Lane Stand in the 70s and 80s (and I saw again not too long ago still with long blond hair)
