Klitschko in a City top

Morning all, please keep all comments respectable, offensive terminology will not be tolerated,cheers:-)

Back on topic.....Fury is anything but your typical boxer,in all senses.....but I find him amusing,IMO the sport needs characters and he's certainly one of them, his press conferences/interviews always provide great entertainment and are becoming must watch TV.I'd be more than happy to see him retain the title.

Fury is a character granted.

Remind me of that one person at work everyone knows who's done everything better than anyone else etc. Are we sure his real dad isn't a scouser?

The press conference was more entertaining than the fight will be.

Klitch comes across as a very clever man and very approachable.

I disagree with this notion that Boxing needs characters... Far from it.
If the sport is going to gain respect from the wide general public then ignorant morons like Fury won't achieve this.
Maybe it will encourage people to watch the fight just to see him on his ass??

Long term the sport needs the likes of this Joshua lad, who comes across as a down to earth, humble guy - someone kids could admire and encourages them to take up the sport.

Wasn't he a drug dealer? And enforcer?

I hope Fury does it again and with the majority on his back again, not that he'll ever get any credit. Whatever the thoughts on him, he beat the man others couldn't in Germany and very few gave him a chance of doing it.

He's boxed all his life and what him and his family have achieved is to be admired, he says he's never been in trouble with the police apart from driving offences and some say he's not a role model due to his outdated beliefs, where as Joshua is a hero despite looking down the barrel at serious time for drug dealing, all because he knows how to handle himself in front of a camera, I think Tyson also knows how he is expected to behave, just that he couldn't give a shit for it and if you don't like him so be it, he is what he is and at the moment he is the undisputed heavy weight champion of the world and a lot can't handle that fact, I wonder how much of that is because certain people can't mould him to their way and are shit scared of him and the confidence he has in his own beliefs.

His Dad was rightfully annoyed at the last press conference and mentioned Tyson was close to retirement, his attitude to boxing isn't new, he is pissed off with it and as I've said before to me he seems depressed and searching for meaning in life and achieving what he always wanted in becoming world champion hasn't provided that and has further realised he will never get any credit, he could cure cancer and to most he'd still just be a fat gypo.

Good post - I like fury. My only worry is can you beat klicthco looking like he does with just 12 weeks to go?

My thoughts exactly. Hope he gets Klitschko out of the way then fucks Joshua up.

There's good and bad in everyone, there's things I like about Fury and things I don't like about him too and it's the same with Klitschko.

Klitschko I like because he makes the effort to set an example - this cannot be taken away from him he tries to act with respect and dignity(a gent), rose above a lot of things 99% of fighters wouldn't have throughout his career(I mean they tried to make a big deal about him using the words "fuck off" in a press conference which is nothing... doesn't that say a lot about the standard he's set compared to most?)... What I don't like is he's not really tried to entertain the boxing fans, while he was champ he did what he wanted... out of the ring I give him a pass for that(he's not that kind of personality probably doesn't like that kind of attention) but as far as making fights people want to see and a lot of the time safety first performances(mostly in his adopted home country to boot) in the ring it's right that he has critics for that(especially given how long he had the belts).

As for Tyson first off the Fury fans will defend him beyond belief telling you he speaks his mind and never bullshits(i.e nothing is for show)... truth is he bullshits as much if not more than anyone when it suits him he's just selective when he does it. I like him because when he's being himself he's pretty likeable and not as dumb as he sometimes sounds(watch some of his interviews with IFL's Kugan when his guard is down and there's a reason for this guard which I'll come to) and as a fighter of his size he's full of surprises he might not always look composed or clean in his work but he's very fast for his size and he is a fighter(I can't see him taking a knee or not getting up for a count through lack of wanting it). Now recently he's been saying some things that have had me questioning if I want to back him or not but I saw this interview recently too which probably is what's going on in his head(I agree it is wrong how they are treated by some and everyone strangely seems ok with it but as I've said before nobody likes a crybully/SJW he needs to learn that or he'll play into their hands):

I think Tyson was hoping the country would get behind him when he won and everyone love and accept him, he's obviously faced a lot of prejudice in his lifetime and perhaps a lot of travelers do, it's no good saying he should get over it because none of us know what it's like unless you've come from that place. It's as bad as racial prejudice(colour of ones skin) you're not good enough to mix with us because you're this colour etc except in this day and age someone would say something about that. I still think he's seeing it wrong though, moving to America is not the answer because they are even worse than us(he was moaning that he only gets attention because he's a freak show/joke) they love him because they think he's mental, it's like British boxing fans with Shannon Brigs. Another thing with the acceptance is, if he was expecting to mix with the high class and filthy rich(meet the queen etc) IMO they are the most prejudice bunch out there even do well white working class who get rich will get looked down on and mocked by a lot of that sort, I'm not sure what he was expecting. It's good that he's not taking it out on AJ too even though he's stolen a lot of the limelight at a time where he should be main man domestically, I really think they like each other in reality.
