Knees as you age

Haven't read through the thread but I'm 45 and my eyes and knees are the first casualties.

I've never understood the attraction of women's arses (see above). Tits, yes, legs certainly, but what do you want with a woman's bottom?

Had my knee replacement yesterday. Laid up in hospital bed waiting for rugby to start.
I had the spinal injection to numb my lower half and then sedation. Surgery went fine and woke up as if I had just been asleep. Sensation of lower body feeling coming back was weird . Bladder is last to come back so had to lie with my tadger in a cardboard bottle thing which slowly filled out of my control!!! Will see physio today and get me on my feet and give exercises. Going to take a while before back to normal but it needed doing. Painkillers are.my friend.
Hopefully home tomorrow, Tuesday at latest.

Best of luck with your recovery.

Thank you. Will take time. Been told can't drive for 6 to 8 weeks which will be a bind. Probably won't be be at Etihad till late November but will definitely be at the Derby

Had keyhole in both knees 25 years ago. I was 28 and it finished my football career. Been sensible with what I do since but in the last 4 weeks I've had to strap the left one every day due to pain. I know what's coming. Another op at the very least. If they start seizing up in the night then a replacement might be happening. Surprised they've lasted this long if I'm honest.

Tying up my trainers can hurt sometimes so I put my foot up on a step or chair. Sitting on my knees causes pain. Like when I have back pain, they tend to sort themselves out after a week or so.

I asked my consultant for dos and don'ts during my recovery. He said no kneeling down and then said knees were never designed for kneeling on and can damage them. This may explain a lot of people's knee problem

Bluesteve 1964,ice and ice and more ice.my op done last Sept.did they give you that little plastic saucer to help you flex your knee whilst seated. It was a boon for me.Get out and about, even if it’s only as far as your gate.do every thing the physio told you.and don,t be a whingeing mard Arse. Its a battle but don,let it get you down .Best wishes.
