We've all met one or a hundred and called plenty of people one....so which is it?

Nob for me as in...."that gooner2 is a right nob"

It's quite simply "knob" because that is the correct spelling. It's certainly not a matter of opinion.
''Correct spelling''? On here?

Tough one, if only Einstein and Hawking posted on here.
Have you seen how many pages the barm or muffin thread has?

I think it's an interesting and important point to be discussed. For me it is nob. As in, nobhead.
Knob alludes to a doorhandle or something doesn't it?

nob means cock. So it's nob.

If you're sad enough to spend as much time on here (the forum in general rather than just the cellar or an individual thread) as me, you'll find plenty of spelling mistakes Therefore the concept correct spelling is quite humourous.

A 'Nob' is slang for posh people...and also an area of San Fransisco, Nob Hill.

Totally different to a knob.

also a place in bolton called nob end

Always wondered if people who lived here would feel as though they're insulting someone if they were asked where they live.

Taxi driver " Where to mate?"
Bloke "Nob End"
Taxi driver "No need for that mate, was only askin' like."

Nob Hill was also an affectionate term for Mottram Rd/ Mottram Old Rd and it's environs in Stalybridge.
This area generally has the most expensive houses in the town and where the 'ten bob millionaires' lived.

Any excuse to post the mighty Half Man Half Biscuit

You disappoint me Jim, I fear you may fold under questioning!
